ABOUT

US

Born in Shanghai, China, Haodong Wu has lived in New York for over a decade. Haodong has graduated from the Mannes School of Music with two Masters degrees, in Solo Piano and Collaborative Piano, and she has been enjoying a fulfilling career in both fields. Her recent performances include solo appearances with the Yonkers Philharmonic and New Amsterdam Symphony orchestras and a recital at Carnegie's Weill Hall with Marisa Karchin, soprano, as the 2018 winners of the Joy in Singing art song competition.

Haodong has been teaching piano since her early years in New York, both privately and in music schools. She has spent several years on faculty at the Westchester Conservatory in White Plains, and she is running a private studio spanning over Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and upstate New York. While highly experienced with beginners of all ages, Haodong is also ready to pick up where a previous teacher left off, and quickly adjust to the student's ability and needs in order to provide top-quality mentorship. Haodong is fluent in English and Mandarin.

David Ordovskiy, a native of Saint Petersburg, Russia, is a prize-winning flutist based in New York. He has completed his studies at the Mannes School of Music in 2017, and he holds a Master's Degree and in Classical Flute Performance. David has been active as a soloist and orchestral player for many years, with career highlights including the First Prize of the New York Flute Club competition, regular guest appearances as part of the American Ballet Theatre orchestra, and several solo performances with orchestras in the city.

David has worked as a Teaching Assistant for Mannes' flute studio during his student years, and has been teaching flute privately since his graduation. He pays meticulous attention to detail while maintaining a fun and inspirational atmosphere during his lessons. David has also double-majored in flute and piano earlier in his studies, which allows him to work as a teacher in both instruments.  He will gladly work with students starting from age 10 for flute, and age 6 for piano, and he currently has spots open in his studio for either instrument - or both, if you are interested! David is fluent in English and Russian.
